We are beginning a new era of communicating with those who participate and have an interest in all things Lansing Parks & Recreation.  Each month we are going to be sending out an E-Newsletter.  This e-mail based newsletter will better connect and share news and information.  We will be highlighting Things to Do in the upcoming month, News and Highlights, Staff and Volunteer Recognition, Park Highlights, and lastly information on keeping and creating a Green Lansing.

Summer Concerts in the Park Series

 Free Concerts  7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Enjoy the warm summer nights in neighborhood parks throughout Lansing.  Bring your own lawn chair or blanket and sit back for an evening of great entertainment.  All concerts are held on Wednesdays evenings unless otherwise noted.  For weather cancellations, please call 483-6019.

Everyone loves a parade!  Celebrate the holiday with clowns, specialty automobiles, music, dance troops, community groups, and military units.  Patriotic individuals interested in participating in the parade have until Friday, June 26 to submit entries.  For more information call 483-4313.

2009 Spring Activity Guide You may register online for upcoming Parks and Recreation  activities. Click on the picture of the guide to find  the activities you wish to register for and then use Online Registration to register. 

 Resident registration begins March 16, 2009 and Open registration (resident & non-resident) begins March 23, 2009.

 




 

Coach Rachel Labahn talks to students about life skills.The First Tee of Mid-Michigan

Over thirty five (35) young golfers received their first lesson in everyday life skills and golfing techniques after registering for The First Tee of Mid-Michigan youth golfing program.  The first session is currently underway with three more sessions available for young golfers interested in the game.  For more information, please call Don Ballard at Groesbeck Golf Course, 517.483.4154 or the main Parks and Recreation Office at 517.483.4277.  Check out the golfing action by visiting the Photo Library.
