| It was 102 years ago this December that Grandmother Marion Turner and the family of Abby Turner and Frank Dodge celebrated their first Christmas at their newly renovated home at 100 East North Street north of the State Capitol in Lansing. Now the Classical Revival house has been exquisitely restored to the 1903 period and annually celebrates an Old Fashioned Family Christmas with antique decorations from the pantry to the ballroom.
This year's event will be held on Wednesday through Saturday, December 10 through the 122nd, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Saturdays will include Tea in the Ballroom sponsored by the Friends of the Turner-Dodge House & Heritage Center, Santa, Story Time and musical performances.
Highlights of the annual community Holiday Event are:
- A collection of charming Steiff toy animals belonging to Susan Steiner Bolhouse, in the guest bedroom
A display of antique Christmas advertising in the Master Bedroom from the collection of Val Berryman, MSU Museum.
A display of antique bicycles in the ballroom, on loan from the collection of MSU Museum.

Turner-Dodge House was occupied by the Turner and the Dodge families from 1858 through 1958. For twelve years it was used as a dormitory by a private college and in 1974 it was purchased by the City of Lansing. It has been a community effort to authentically preserve the house as it was at the turn-of-the-19th-century.
