
1. The person taking out the reservation shall be held responsible for the conduct of the group and shall see that the grounds are left in a neat, clean and orderly condition.
2. Reservations are accepted up to six (6) months in advance of the date desired. When dates for making a reservation fall on a Saturday or Sunday, the following Monday will be the date of acceptance. THE RESERVATION SEASON BEGINS WITH THE FIRST SATURDAY IN MAY AND ENDS WITH THE SECOND SUNDAY IN OCTOBER.
3. Reservations will be accepted with the provision that the reserved periods are subject to changes in fees, ordinances, and regulations. There is currently a $25.00 fee for a two (2) hour wedding reservation. A group may reserve more than one two-hour block of time. More than one wedding can be scheduled in a day.
4. A reservation will not be considered final until payment is received. Payment is to be made before the use of the facility. Fees must be paid within ten (10) days after the reservation is made. If payment is not received within 10 days, the reservation will be canceled without further notice. If there are less than 10 days to the date requested, reservations will only be taken with payment.
5. Aisle runners may be used if placed immediately prior to the ceremony and taken up immediately following the ceremony.
6. There is no seating and chairs are not to be brought in on the lawn areas. Chairs are allowed in the pavilion.
7. Guests are limited to 100 or less
8. No throwing of rice, coins, confetti, bird seed, etc.
9. Non-amplified music is allowed, such as a guitar, flute or a small cassette player. Amplified music is not allowed.
10. Alcoholic beverages are not allowed.
11. Refunds will be issued (less a $10.00 service fee) if cancellation is made 30 days prior to the reservation date. [Exception: If the time slot is reserved and paid for by another group, a refund (less a $10.00 service fee) will be granted.]Refunds are not issued due to adverse weather conditions. Fees are not transferable to a different day or time.
12. Permission to waive any rule must be obtained in writing. Verbal permission is invalid.
13. Bring paid receipt to park on date of reservation.
Keep in mind that Cooley Gardens is primarily a park and weddings should not take precedence or interfere with the enjoyment of the park. This reservation guarantees that no other weddings have been scheduled for the reserved time slot. It does not guarantee exclusive use of the park. Electricity and restrooms are not available. A caretaker is not stationed at this site.
GARDEN ETIQUETTE Our plant collections, like all museum collections, are very important. Please refrain from collecting plants, flowers or labels, climbing on trees and shrubs, and standing or walking in garden beds. Stay on path or walkway where provided. For everyone's safety and enjoyment, active sports or games (baseball, football, soccer, roller-blading, skate-boarding, Frisbee, etc.) are not permitted in garden areas. Pets are not allowed in gardens; guide dogs are welcome. |
