About Court Administration
Court Administration is responsible for all non-judicial functions of the court, including management of case flow, personnel, budget, records, court schedules, information technology, and jury service. Efficient operations being critical to our delivery of services, Court Administration works with the judges to provide fair and effective access to our system of justice.  

Court Administrator
Mr. Woods earned a B.A. from Central Michigan University, an M.A. from the University of Arizona, and an M.P.A. from Western Michigan University. Prior to his court experience, he worked in the field of mental health and substance abuse.  From January of 1998 to July of 2005, he served as Chief Probation Officer and Deputy Court Administrator at the 54-B District Court in East Lansing Michigan.  In July of 2005, he was appointed Court Administrator of the 54-A District Court. He is a member of the board of directors for the Michigan Court Administration Association (MCAA), a member of the National Association for Court Management (NACM), Michigan Judicial Institute's Court Support Personnel Training Consortium and Atlantic International University (AIU) criminal justice advisory council.    

Deputy Court Administrator
Ms. Mary Kelly earned a B.A from Michigan State University, and a J.D. from Thomas Cooley Law School. Prior to her current position, she served as a Labor Relations Administrator for the City of Grand Rapids, a staff attorney for the Kent County Office of the Defender, a partner in private law practice, and, from June of 1996 to August of 2005, as the Chief Deputy Clerk for the Kent County Circuit Court. In August of 2005, she was appointed Deputy Court Administrator of the 54-A District Court. Mary has completed the core curriculum for the National Center for State Court's (NCSC) Court Management Program, and served on numerous committees for the State Court Administrative Office. Mary is a member of the Michigan and Grand Rapids Bar Associations, the National Association for Court Management (NACM) and the Michigan Court Administration Association (MCAA).
