City Nets New Deal with AT&T

AT&T LogoThe City Attorney recently negotiated another cutting edge franchise agreement, this time with AT&T.  As with the deals with Comcast and AriaLink, the agreement provides the City with 5% in gross revenues, as well as another 2% of revenues for PEG funding.

The net result?  Well over a million-and-a-half in revenue for the City that it did not have before.  We look forward to welcoming AT&T to the community, and continue valuing our partnerships with Comcast and AriaLink in the meantime.

Many thanks to Deputy Chief of Staff, Randy Hannan, and Special Assistant City Attorney John Pestle, for helping pull off another great deal for the City.

City Attorney Wins Unanimous Verdict Against Boat Club

Lansing Boat ClubCity Attorney Brig Smith and Acting Deputy City Attorney Don Kulhanek won a unanimous jury verdict to evict the Lansing Boat Club from Grand River Park.  The decision returns the Park to its rightful owners-- the citizens of Lansing-- and paves the way for developing a grand vision for the Grand River.

The Boat Club has filed an appeal, which the City Attorney expects to win.  In the meantime, your thoughts and comments on the future of Grand River Park are much appreciated.
